In at number nine for our top ten summer attractions, is the Mont Blanc Marathon weekend. This really is a spectacular sporting event to kick start the summer programme of activities in Chamonix. The event takes place on the weekend of 26th to 28th June but the whole of the race week creates a festival atmosphere in the town with plenty of associated events day and night and the Partner Village showcasing sports manufacturers and the different trail races found throughout the world on the Place du Mont-Blanc from 25th to 27th June.

Well here we go with Chamonix Lodge’s top ten recommendations of things to do and see this summer in Chamonix. In at number ten is the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) and the Montenvers Train. We thought we would break you in gently with a relaxing 5km train journey to just over 1,900 metres above sea level on what is a very scenic journey.
